CMAT Admission Process

CMAT is a national-level exam conducted by NTA for admitting students to over 1000 AICTE-approved management institutions in the country. These are the following steps in the CMAT exam. 

• Application

The first step is the application process and CMAT exam registration. Students who want to take admission to colleges offering MBA courses if to register themselves. A couple of months before the CMAT entrance exam date, NTA releases an official notification regarding the exam. After NTA releases the notification, it opens the application portal, and candidates can register for the exam. 

• Downloading Admit Card, and Attempting the CMAT Exam

Once you have registered your application successfully, you need to download the admit card for the examination. On the CMAT test date, candidates need to reach their centre of examination and attempt the CMAT exam. 

• Merit List

After NTA declares the result, check whether your name is present in the merit list. If you found your name on the merit list, apply to the college where you want to pursue an MBA course from. 

• GD and PI Rounds

After applying to the college, the college management will call you for a Group Discussion and Personal Interview round. This is the last step of the exam, and if you have performed well in your GD and PI rounds, you will be able to secure a seat in one of the reputed management colleges in the country. 

CMAT Exam Pattern

Before you attempt the CMAT exam, it is necessary that you make yourself familiar with the CMAT exam pattern. The CMAT examination consists of 100 questions, divided across 5 sections, and you get three hours to attempt the examination. There are 5 sections:  General Awareness, Language Comprehension, Logical Reasoning, Innovation & Entrepreneurship areas, and Quantitative Technique.
