What is JEE Main?

JEE Main is a national-level entrance examination conducted by the NTA for admission into B.E courses or B.Tech programmes. The entrance allows students to pursue engineering courses at NITs, IIITs, and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs). The JEE Main score is also evaluated for admission into Institutions/Universities funded/recognised by participating state governments.

Candidates who want admission into B.Arch/B.Plan courses need to appear in the JEE Main paper 2 exams. For those who want to study at IITs, appearing in JEE Main is crucial because it acts as an eligibility test for JEE Advanced — entrance examination for admission into IITs.
