UCEED is the abbreviation of the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design. IIT Bombay conducts this entrance for admission into its Bachelor of Design or B.Des course. Many other institutions also accept the UCEED score, and here is a list.

If you want to take up a B.Des course in any of these institutions, you must clear the UCEED exam. But that is not all. UCEED 2023 qualifiers have to apply separately for B.Des admission through the joint seat allocation process.

UCEED Syllabus
UCEED 2023 will have two parts — Part A and B. For a detailed syllabus description, we suggest you go through the UCEED Brochure.
UCEED Part - A will include the following topics:
- Visualisation and spatial ability
- Observation and design sensitivity
- Environmental and social awareness
- Analytical and logical reasoning
- Language and creativity
- Design thinking and problem-solving
UCEED Part - B syllabus will include only one question from Drawing.
UCEED Examination
If you plan to appear for the UCEED 2023, mark the exam dates on your calendar. The UCEED 2023 will be conducted on January 22, 2023, from 9 AM - 12 noon. The UCEED admit card for 2023 will be released on January 13. Know that the UCEED Part A is an online written exam, and Part B is an offline drawing exam.

UCEED Eligibility
Appearing candidates must not be born before October 1, 1998. Age relaxation of 5 years is allowed only for students belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories. The candidate should have successfully cleared the 10+2 or equivalent exam in 2022 from a recognised board, or the candidate should be appearing for the qualifying examination for the first time in 2023.

UCEED 2023 Registration
The UCEED 2023 registration process started on September 30, and the deadline (without a late fee) is November 9. Candidates will still be able to register for the UCEED 2023 after 9th November, but a late fee of ₹500 will be charged. Candidates can submit applications till November 16, 2022.
Follow these steps to register for UCEED 2023 —
For online registration,
- Click on the registration link to reach the registration form. Fill out all the details like valid email id and mobile number.
- On successful registration, an applicant account will be created.
- Now that you have successfully opened a user account, you can fill out the application form.
- The application form has sections like personal, academic, and contact details. Candidates have to fill in all the sections.
- Candidates need to select THREE exam cities in the order of priority.
- Upload documents; upload documents like your signature, photograph, date of birth proof, and qualifying exam certificates in the prescribed format.
- Pay the application fee online using a debit/credit card or bank transfer.
