The CMAT Exam 2023 announcement will release soon, and the test will most likely take place in March or April 2023. The exam authority has been monitoring the online delivery of the CMAT across Prometric centres since 2019. 

The CMAT entrance exam occurs in two sessions across 278 exam centres in 153 exam cities across India. Moreover, the test will evaluate the applicants on several fronts, including logical, verbal, analytical, and statistical abilities. 

What is the CMAT Exam?

The National Testing Agency (NTA) of India organises the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT), an online computer-based exam. It is a national-level admission test designed to assist institutions in selecting suitable students for admission to all AICTE-approved management programmes. 

CMAT is a 180-minute online multiple-choice test. It determines a student's eligibility to pursue an MBA and work in management. This exam takes place only once a year, and the results are valid for a year following the exam. Over 1000 participating institutions across the country accept CMAT scores.

CMAT Exam Registration

Once the authority issues the official notification, the online registration link for the CMAT entrance exam 2023 becomes active. Applicants complete the entire registration procedure online. The detailed application process is as follows:

  • The CMAT registration process for 2023 will likely begin in the first week of February 2023.
  • Candidates interested and eligible should register on the official website and fill out the CMAT 2023 application.
  • The CMAT exam fee is ₹2000 for general/unreserved applicants and ₹1000 for reserved applicants.
  • Only scanned photographs and signatures in the specified format should be uploaded.
  • Before submitting the CMAT 2023 application form, double-check all the crucial details.
  • Make a copy of the application form for future reference.

CMAT Exam Pattern for 2023

  • The CMAT exam is administered online and consists of five sections: 
  • Logical Reasoning
  • Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation
  • Language Comprehension
  • General Awareness
  • Innovation & Entrepreneurship
  • The examination lasts three hours in total.
  • There is no time limit for each section of the paper.
  • Each question is worth four points, and each incorrect answer takes away one point from the total.

Note: In the CMAT Exam Pattern 2023, there are no optional papers. Innovation and Entrepreneurship, which was introduced as an optional paper in 2022, is now a mandatory test section.

CMAT Syllabus 

As mentioned above, the CMAT Syllabus contains five test sections:  Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, General Awareness, and Innovation and Entrepreneurship. 

  • Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation: Percentages, Probability, Averages, Ratio & Proportion, Profit & Loss, Speed, Time & Distance, Fractions and Decimals, Mensuration, Geometry, Algebra, Simple and Compound Interests, Permutations and Combinations, Bar Graphs, Line Charts, Venn Diagrams, Pie Chart, etc.
  • Logical Reasoning: Logical Sequence, Clocks & Calendars, Data Structure, Binary Logic, Number and Letter Series, Direction Sense, Seating Arrangement, Coding-Decoding, Puzzles, Syllogism, Blood Relations, etc.
  • Language Comprehension: Passages, Sentence Correction, Paragraph Completion, Reading Comprehension, Idioms and Phrases, Jumbled Paragraph, Synonyms and Antonyms, One-word substitution, etc.
  • General Awareness: Current Affairs, Science in everyday life, Culture, Personalities in News, Indian Constitution, Sports News, Trade Awareness, Politics, History, Geography, Economics (National and International). 
  • Innovation & Entrepreneurship: Important Events, Budget & Economic Survey, Business & Corporate affairs, New Investments & Schemes, Policies related to Entrepreneurship and Business Promotion, Startups Ecosystem, Banking Regulation & Reforms, International Organisations, General Economy, and Current Affairs

CMAT Question Paper

CMAT Admit Card 2023 

After you complete the CMAT registration, the NTA Authority will announce the date for downloading the CMAT Admit Card

Aspirants must use their login credentials to access the CMAT admit card download link on the official website. To enter the centre on the CMAT exam date, you must bring a government-issued ID with your name, photograph, date of birth, and printed admit card. 

The following ID proofs are acceptable:

  • The Aadhar card
  • PAN number
  • Voter identification card
  • Driver's licence, passport
  • ID card for college/university
