IIFT Exam 2023: Exam Date, Syllabus, Pattern

The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) is India's premier business and management school. Its main campus is in New Delhi, with satellite campuses in Kolkata and Kakinada. The institute operates as an autonomous body under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the Government of India. The IIFT exam is a Management Aptitude Test used to gain admission to the MBA International Business programme of the institute. 

The IIFT entrance examination is a national-level examination for students interested in pursuing full-time or part-time management courses at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade. After passing the IIFT entrance exam, candidates will undergo additional rounds of selection for the MBA-IB programmes at IIFT campuses. Foreign or international students can apply to IIFT based on their GMAT scores.  

Overview of the IIFT Entrance Exam 

The selection process at IIFT consists of four steps:

• The IIFT MBA entrance exam is a paper-based exam held around November, whereas National Testing Agency conducts a computer-based exam for admission to Global MBA.
• Candidates for the Group Discussion round are those short-listed based on their test scores. This round tests individuals on their group discussion skills on topics of national and international importance in the social, political, economic, and corporate domains.
• A Writing Ability Test levies the writing skills of candidates and their knowledge of the subject and representation structure.
• The Personal Interview focuses on goals, accomplishments, knowledge, and awareness.

Generally, the National Testing Agency conducts all three ability tests on the same day. A cumulative weighted score, based on the rules of that particular year of the MBA entrance exam, determines the final short-list of candidates for IIFT Delhi and IIFT Kolkata.

IIFT Exam Registration 

The application form for the IIFT Exam 2023 is now available on the official website. The IIFT exam registration period began on September 30 2023. The deadline for submitting the IIFT Exam application form is November 24 2022. Given are the step-by-step instructions for IIFT exam registration:

• Visit the official website of the IIFT 2023 exam.
• Apply for IIFT MBA (IB) Registration. If you have not already registered, click on New Registration.
• Read the instructions and procedure for online submission of the IIFT Exam application form, then click the acknowledgement button to proceed.
• Enter the required information to generate IIFT login credentials. You will receive login information after registering for the IIFT Entrance Exam 2023.
• Fill out the IIFT Exam application form with the necessary information. To avoid disqualification, please ensure that the details entered are correct.
• Upload a scanned copy of your photo and signature in JPEG/JPG format.
• The scanned photograph must not be larger than 50 KB, and the signature scanned copy must not be larger than 20 KB.
• Fill out the application form and pay the IIFT Exam 2023 fee.
• Make a copy of the completed IIFT 2023 application form for future use.

Following the end of the IIFT 2023 application form window, NTA will open the correction window on November 26. Candidates can edit their details in the submitted IIFT application form during the IIFT application form correction window. Authorities will issue an IIFT admit card after the IIFT correction window closes.

IIFT Exam Pattern

Candidates must note the IIFT exam pattern and commence their preparation accordingly. You may also refer to some management exam preparation tips to score strategically.  

• Exam Mode: The candidates appear for the exam online, also known as a computer-based test or CBT mode.
• Test Sections: The exam will include questions from the following sections: English Grammar, Data Interpretation, General Knowledge & Current Affairs, Vocabulary and Comprehension, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Aptitude.
• Type of Questions: All of the questions on the exam will be of the objective variety.
• Duration: The entrance exam will last two hours.
• Medium of Instruction: The exam takes place in English as the medium of instruction.
• Maximum Marks: The exam will hold a total mark of 100.
