IIFT Results - Check Merit List, Cut-off & More

The IIFT results are declared shortly after the exam is concluded. Since the exam is conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode, it doesn’t take much time for NTA to prepare and release the scorecards.

The exam is scheduled to take place on 5th December 2021. Candidates can expect the IIFT result 2022 to be out by the end of December. You can check the results by visiting the official website of NTA-IIFT. 

The result is required in the first round of admission into IIFT MBA(IB) and it is used to screen candidates for the final round. The factor taken into account for this is the percentile obtained in the exam. 

Based on the overall performance of candidates in the exam, the colleges release cut-offs. However, you need to be aware that the cut-offs vary every year, based on the overall performance of candidates in the NTA-IIFT exam.

IIFT Results Highlights

• The IIFT result 2022 will be released by the end of December 2021

• The result will be available on the official website of NTA-IIFT

• Candidates can use the application number and either DOB or Password to view their scorecard

• The only way to access the scorecard is online; it will not be made available as a physical copy under any circumstance

• Only candidates who have successfully appeared for the exam will be issued a scorecard

• The scorecard will contain the breakdown of total marks obtained by the candidate

• The scorecard is NOT the final selection criteria; another round of PI/GD is conducted before seats are offered for admission

• The scorecard will be available till the results for the next session are released

How to Check IIFT Result

The only way to check the IIFT result is through the online mode. You have to visit the official website and enter the login credentials to access the IIFT result 2022. It is fairly easy and the process is also quite smooth. 

Steps to Download IIFT Scorecard

Step 2: On the home page, click on “IIFT 2022: MBA (IB) scorecard”

Step 3: Enter the application number and Password/Date of Birth

Step 4: Your scorecard for IIFT 2022 will appear on the screen

Step 5: You can save it as a PDF and take printouts for future use

Details Mentioned on the IIFT Scorecard

The IIFT scorecard will contain the breakdown of marks obtained by a candidate in the exam. The following details will be mentioned in the IIFT scorecard. 

• Application number

• Candidates’ Name

• Parents’ Name

• Roll number 

• Category status

• PwD status

• Gender & Date of Birth

• Section-wise division of marks obtained

• Section-wise division of total marks

• Details of scorecard validity

• The calculation process of IIFT marks

How to Calculate IIFT Result

The scorecard will contain a section-wise breakdown of marks obtained in the IIFT exam. However, the total score is not the same as the aggregate score obtained by the candidate in each of the sections. The total score is calculated based on a separate formula prescribed by IIFT authorities.  

Remember that the validity of the scorecard is subject to verification of the documents during selection. If the information provided turns out to be incorrect, then the scorecard will no longer valid. Make sure to be careful about this while filling the application form.

Formula for Calculating IIFT Results

The formula based on which the total/ final score of candidates in the IIFT exam is calculated has been given below. 

[100 X Number of candidates appeared in the examination with raw marks EQUAL TO OR LESS THAN the candidate] / [Total number of candidates appeared]

IIFT Cut-off

The cut-offs for IIFT vary every year depending on a number of factors. The most prominent among them is the overall performance of the candidates in the exam. Based on the cut-offs candidates are shortlisted for the GD/PI round at the three campuses of IIFT. 

The exam is highly competitive, and due to the elite nature of the institute, IIFT cut-offs are usually quite high. The cut-offs are also different for different campuses. The opportunity to study at IIFT is quite lucrative, as a result, almost no seats go vacant after the first list is put up. 

If you want to get into the MBA (International Business) course at IIFT, then you need to be highly accurate with your answers in the exam. 

Otherwise, clearing the cut-offs will prove to be a difficult task.

The yearly variations in cut-offs are dependent on the following important factors.

• Number of candidates who appeared for IIFT 2022

• Candidates who obtained the minimum marks for passing

• The number of seats available in the 3 campuses of IIFT

• The difficulty level of the IIFT question paper

IIFT Admission Process

After the IIFT result is declared, counselling at the three IIFT campuses begins. Colleges longlist candidates based on the final score in the IIFT exam. Selected candidates are asked to appear for the final round of admission at the chosen IIFT campus.

NOTE: The essay writing test or the Written Ability Test (WAT) was scrapped in the 2021 session due to Covid 19. Whether it will be included or not would be clarified by the IIFT in due course. 

Documents to Carry on the Day of Selection

The details entered during the application process are verified at the institute during the final selection round. Candidates need to carry the original copies of all the relevant documents to the institute to successfully consider it. 

The verification is done before the final selection round commences. As a result, candidates who fail the verification are not allowed to appear for the final round. You can find below a list of documents that you need to carry on the day of selection.  

• 10th and 12th mark sheet/certificate

• Graduation mark sheet/certificate

• Date of Birth proof

• NTA-IIFT Admit card

• Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC)

• PWD Certificate (if applicable)

• A photo ID proof

IIFT result is only accepted in the three campuses of the Indian Insitute of Foreign Trade (IIFT). You can find below the expected cut-offs for IIFT 2022 in the Delhi, Kolkata and Kakinada campuses. The expectation is based on the trends in the previous year’s and variations are likely to be minor.
