What is IIM CAP?

• CAP is a common selection process for nine new and baby IIMs’ MBA courses.
• Interested and eligible candidates for an MBA degree must appear for the PI-WAT round in IIM CAP 2023.
• IIMs which conduct CAP arrange WAT-PI rounds. IIMs participating in the CAP have the same minimum cut-off for CAT 2022, admission factors, and weighing.
• Aspirants' marks in the Common Admission Process 2023 are sent to all participating IIMs.
• Every IIM publishes the merit list of selected MBA candidates based on the final marks of each applicant. IIMs display the list of selected students on their websites.
• After logging into the website of that IIM, aspirants can view this list.

CAP 2023 – Important Changes and Highlights

• IIM Udaipur will conduct CAP 2023 starting in February 2023
• The Written Ability Test (WAT) Process has been excluded from the CAP 2023 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
• Online PI rounds will be held in CAP 2023
• For all 9 IIMs participating in the PI, the IIM Udaipur will communicate the exact date of the PI.
• There will not be a separate final admission round for CAP participating IIMs.
• The IIM Rohtak has opted out of the CAP 2023 and is conducting its selection process.
• The CAT percentile cut-off for shortlisting in CAP 2023 is 92.
• In shortlisting for CAP 2023, the sectional CAT 2022 cut-off remains at the 70 percentile.

Some CAP-participating IIMs also declare shortlisting cut-offs. Last year, the cut-off for IIM Bodh Gaya was 90 percentile for general candidates and 87 percentile for female candidates.

With a candidate's CAT 2022 login ID, one can apply for IIM CAP 2023 on the conducting institute's website.

• Enter your CAT registration ID 
• Please enter your password and captcha code 
• Click on the submit button after filling out the CAP form and uploading relevant documents.

Online CAP 2023: How to participate?

• Two-three days before the interview, the candidate's registered email address will receive the link for the Online Personal Interview.
• On the designated interview date and time, candidates must attend the Online PI by clicking on the provided link.
• Candidates must have prepared the requirements on or before the designated date and time.
• In the house/any other place, only the candidate should be present in the interview room.
• The use of recording devices in interview rooms is strictly prohibited.
• During the interview, audio and video must be on
• Please ensure you are available for the entire PI round slot as described.

Final Selection Weights for IIMs after CAP 2023

Depending on their admission criteria, these IIMs will make their final admission offers based on PI scores in CAP 2023, CAT scores in 2022, and other factors.

Candidates who complete the IIM MBA program can expect to earn between ₹10 and ₹15 lakhs per year through IIM placements.
