Eligibility Criteria for JBIMS Mumbai

The DTE CAP eligibility criteria for JBIMS admission in 2023 include the following points:

  • Candidates must have a bachelor's degree from a recognised university/institute with a minimum of 50% marks.
  • Candidates in their final year of study may also apply.
  • All candidates must register and apply for DTE CAP according to the schedule announced by the CET Cell in Maharashtra.
  • The JBIMS admission criteria specify that Maharashtra State category candidates must have appeared in the MAH CET exam, and all India category candidates must have appeared in one of the following MBA entrance exams: CAT, XAT, or CMAT.

Overview of the JBIMS Admission Process

JBIMS has a multi-step admission process that students must complete to gain acceptance into the institute. Following the admission criteria, students must appear for the course-specific entrance exam and other rounds of selection (if applicable). We have provided a detailed step-by-step admission procedure below:

Step 1: Online Registration

Every year, the JBIMS admission process begins in March. Eligible candidates should apply through the JBIMS online portal. The university considers only complete online applications for admission. JBIMS charges ₹1,200 fees for the application process to their Master of Management Studies (MMS) course.

Steps to follow for online registration:

  1. Register with an email address and a phone number.
  2. Fill out the online application form.
  3. Pay the application fee
  4. Submit the application form
  5. Take a printout of the application form for future reference.

Step 2: Rounds of Selection

The university shortlists candidates for the management programmes based on their entrance exam scores. JBIMS Mumbai offers MBA admission in two categories: Maharashtra state and All-India. As stated above, the MAH CET and CAT/CMAT/XAT scores determine the direct admission to JBIMS in the Maharashtra state and All India Category, respectively. Candidates who meet the predefined eligibility requirements for all other courses must go through the institute-specific selection process.

Step 3: Admission Confirmation & Merit List

The institute publishes the names of the shortlisted candidates on a merit list. It makes provisional admission in accordance with reservation policies. Students who want to enrol now must pay the JBIMS admission application fee and confirm their seats.

Documents Required for the 2023 Application Process

The following are the credentials that must be kept on hand to complete the online application process:

  • Certificate and Mark Sheet of the 10th grade.
  • Certificate and Mark Sheet of the 12th grade.
  • Degree Certificate, Passing Certificate, and Mark Sheets for all years.
  • In the case of students applying in the reserved category, the institute requires birth certificates/domicile certificates.
  • A Caste Certificate, a Caste/Tribe Validity Certificate, and a Non-Creamy Layer Certificate as applicable and issued by a competent authority.
  • Physically Handicapped Certificate from a competent authority, as prescribed by the Government (if applicable).
  • Preliminary and Main Examination scorecards and the Interview Invitation Letter for candidates who appeared for the UPSC Civil Service Examination.

Seats at JBIMS Mumbai

The institute divides the seats between candidates from Maharashtra and those from all over India. Academic and gender diversity are key areas of emphasis in the JBIMS MBA batch profile. Further, JBIMS allows 15% of the total intake to candidates from other states to improve its MBA Batch profile. The Directorate of Technical Education (DTA) Maharashtra prepares its merit list and cut-offs separately via a Centralised Admission Procedure (CAP).
