NTA conducted the JEE Main 2022 exam in two sessions - the first one in June and the second one in July. More than ten lakh candidates registered for the 2022 JEE Main exam. Since JEE Main is a national-level entrance exam for admission into engineering courses across NITs, this staggering number of candidates shows the craze for engineering in India.

NTA, or the National Testing Authority, released the JEE Main result 2022 on 1st September. And before that, NTA had released the qualifying JEE Mains cutoff and also declared the date of JEE Main result 2022 for session 2. Now, before we get into the scores, let us put some light on an important question — what is the JEE Mains 2022 cut-off?

JEE Main 2022 admission cutoff is the minimum score required for admission into participating institutes. Candidates with the desire to get a B.Tech degree from NITs or other premier engineering colleges must meet the cut-off mark.

In this article, we have discussed the cutoff of JEE Mains 2022 along with the cutoff of previous years for a comparative idea. But before we get into the tables with scores and percentile, here is a recap of all the JEE Mains important dates

Previous Years' Cutoff of JEE Main

The JEE Main general cutoff changes every year, depending on the difficulty level of the papers. With tougher question papers, the percentile drops and vice versa. Therefore, it is important to take a look at the previous year’s cutoff to get an idea of the competition and the opportunities that may lie ahead.

Some Important Notes for the Students

NITs and IITs are inarguably the best engineering institutes in India. The entrance tests, therefore, are designed to sieve the best of the talents. As a result, the qualification marks for JEE Mains are pretty tough to achieve. In 2022, almost ten lakh students appeared for the JEE Mains, and a majority of them could not clear the qualifying percentile for JEE Mains 2022. But they should not be depressed because those who could not secure the top ranks can also get admission to other premium engineering colleges. For example, candidates clearing the IIT cutoff JEE Mains can get admission into the IIITs and get a B.Tech in IT.

Wrapping Up

Candidates should prepare best for JEE Mains, but they must not get stressed. Often, stress and anxiety are not conducive to focus and performance. FAQ - JEE Main Cutoff

Is 75 a good score in JEE Mains?

If you belong to the unreserved category, you may not get admission into NITs and IITs by scoring 75 percentile in JEE Mains. However, there are many other colleges, both state-run and private, that can give you admission into their engineering programmes. But if you belong to the reserved category, scoring 75 percentile in JEE Mains can get you admission to some of the top institutes in India.

What is the minimum rank for NIT?

If you score less than 10000 in JEE Main, it will be nearly impossible to get admission into NITs.
