IPU CET 2023 - Exam Details with Syllabus & Cut Off

IPU CET is the Common Entrance Test for admission to the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, located in the capital city of India — Delhi. The entrance exam is a part of the admission process for several undergraduate and postgraduate courses in engineering, management studies, technology, pharmacy, medicine, education, nursing, law, and other fields at the university.

The IPU CET entrance exam is a university-level exam that occurs only once a year, either in April or May. The entire admission process consists of exam registration, submission of application forms, selection of candidates and seat allocation through counselling sessions.

IPU CET Exam Eligibility 2023 

• All aspirants must be of Indian nationality.
• Candidates for the undergraduate course must have completed their 10+2 standard examination or its equivalent from a recognised board.
• Academic requirements for a postgraduate course include an undergraduate graduate from a recognised university.
• The age limit for undergraduate programs is between the ages of 18 to 21.
• The age limit for graduate programs is between the ages of 21 and 35.
• There is no age limit for the MBA programme. 

Eligibility Criteria for IPU CET BCA

• Students must pass their 10+2 exam from a recognised board with a minimum score of 50% and English as their core or elective or functional subject. 
• They must also pass Mathematics or a subject in a non-vocational stream with a 50/50 ratio of theory to practice. These subjects include Computer Science, Computer Applications,  Multimedia & Web Technology, Informatics Practice,  Web Applications or Data Management Applications. 

IPU CET Registration 2023 

• Navigate to the official page of the IPU CET Application.
• Fill out the application with all the required information in the subsections such as personal, communication, course, etc.
• Include your photo, signature, and thumbprint in the documents you upload.
• Re-check your details and fill out any remaining information.
• Sign the declaration form, and pay the IPU CET application fee.
• Submit the IPU CET application form and print a copy for future reference.

IPU CET Application Fee

Aspirants must submit an application fee of ₹1000/- during the IPU CET registration. This amount of application fee applies to candidates from all categories, including General, Open-Backward Class (OBC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Scheduled Caste (SC), etc. One can pay the application fee online using Net Banking or a credit/debit card. 

IPU CET Syllabus 

The syllabus of the IPU CET entrance exam will cover several topics from respective fields. The syllabus for technical undergraduate courses will include topics from 11th and 12th-grade Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The syllabus for postgraduate courses will include technical questions from related fields, English and an Aptitude Test.

IPU CET Exam Pattern

• Exam Mode: One must appear for the entrance exam in the offline mode.
• Language of Exam: The medium of instruction of the exam is solely in English
• Duration: The IPU CET entrance exam will last three hours. 
• Total Marks: The question paper will be worth 400 points.
• Type of Questions: The exam paper will only contain Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
• Marking Scheme: Each correct answer receives four points. 
• Negative Marking: Candidates will lose one point for each incorrect answer.

IPU CET Cut-Off Marks 2023

The cut-off is the minimum number of points applicants should achieve to enter the next rounds of the admissions process. The university will announce the category-specific cut-off marks for shortlisting applicants for admission to the university. 

Furthermore, the authority will prepare a merit list for each shortlisted candidate for the counselling procedure based on the IPU CET Cut off marks. Applicants may view the complete cut-off and merit list on the exam conducting authority's website via online mode.
