As per the latest updates on the official website of KMAT India, the complete exam schedule for KMAT 2021 has been announced. Registrations for the exam, which began on July 6, end on October 25, with the exam scheduled for November 7, 2021. Those who have registered will receive their admit card three days before the exam, i.e. on November 4. This year, bearing in mind the restrictions due to the pandemic, KMAT will be conducted via the remote, online proctored mode across India. 

What is KMAT Karnataka?

KMAT or Karnataka Management Aptitude Test is held by the Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges' Association (KPPGCA) for admission into MBA, PGDM and MCA programmes. The organisation was established to support professional education and facilitate, as well as streamline, the admissions to professional postgraduate courses.

The first time KMAT Karnataka was conducted was back in 2003, born out of the need to have a unified entrance exam for the state. Today, over 170 AICTE-approved MBA colleges and more than 55 MCA colleges offer admissions based on the scores obtained in the KMAT exam.

If your preparation propels you forward to clear KMAT 2021, you would be called for further rounds of the admission process, such as the group discussion and personal interview, by the participating institutes.

KMAT Eligibility Criteria

Earlier, only those who had permanent residence in Karnataka were eligible to take the KMAT exam. However, from 2018, this domicile criterion was removed.

Now, as per the new eligibility criteria for KMAT, you can appear for the exam even if you don't hail from Karnataka. The eligibility criteria, outlined below, mention the requirements for admission, such as educational qualification, minimum marks, and other details.

Note: KMAT 2021's eligibility is based on the University Grants Commission (UGC) guidelines. The criteria remain the same for all participating colleges, however, some colleges may mention additional requirements for final admissions.  

Academic Eligibility for MBA

  • You should have completed your graduation in a discipline such as commerce, management, arts, social sciences, engineering/technology from a recognised college/university.
  • For the final admission, you will be considered eligible based on your performance in the KMAT exam, academic record, and relevant subjects.

Qualifying marks

  • You should have obtained a minimum 50 per cent aggregate or equivalent CGPA in the final year examination of your Bachelor's degree 
  • For those of us belonging to the SC/ST category, the minimum aggregate required would be 45 per cent or its equivalent in CGPA.

KMAT 2021 Eligibility for MCA

  • You must hold a bachelor's degree in any field before seeking admission in an MCA course through KMAT 2021.
  • 50% aggregate in the final year examination of your bachelor's degree is a must.
  • Studying mathematics during your class 12 level examinations is also mandatory for this course.

Age Limit to Appear for KMAT 2021

KPPGCA has not mentioned any age-based barrier for KMAT. However, you should be at least 21 years old at the time of admission.

KMAT Registration

The first step in the admission process is registration. You can register for the KMAT entrance exam 2021 on the official website of KMAT India.

KMAT Syllabus

The three test sections in KMAT MBA 2021 exam are:

  1. Language comprehension
  2. Mathematical skills
  3. Basic aptitude.

There is a sectional sub-division in KMAT's syllabus that makes KMAT seem like an exam with six effective sections.

Language comprehension in the syllabus is divided into two parts:

  1. The verbal ability syllabus
  2. Reading comprehension syllabus

Similarly, section two on mathematical skills is divided into:

  1. Mathematics
  2. Data interpretation

Note: KMAT 2021's syllabus for mathematical skills section is very wide and covers each and every topic in mathematics with greater emphasis on Arithmetic. KMAT syllabus is thus based on the past paper patterns which contain questions from all these sections.

And to round it off, section three on the basic aptitude syllabus also consists of two parts:

  2. Logical reasoning

Steps to Download KMAT Admit Card 2021

  1. Visit the official website of KMAT
  2. On the homepage, there will be a link that says 'Download Admit Card'. Click on it.
  3. Enter your login details, ie. your application number and DOB.
  4. The admit card will appear on your screen; verify the details printed on it for any mistake/errors.
  5. If everything looks good to go, download your admit card.

KMAT Preparation Tips

To prepare for the KMAT entrance exam, your single most important step is to make a study plan which incorporates each topic of the syllabus, while giving ample time to each individual topic. Commence your preparations with important topics and then thoroughly understand the fundamentals and basic concepts. Once you feel that you have covered the basics, try your hands at a few sample papers and mock tests. Don't forget to divide and allocate your preparation days smartly and efficiently.

KMAT Result

The results for KMAT 2021 will be released on November 20, 2021.

For online IBT mode, the result will be declared on the official site. You can check the KMAT Result 2021 for IBT by entering your roll number and your date of birth. For the offline PBT mode, you can get your result only at the KMAT office. Below is a list of dates for the KMAT results.

You must check the following details mentioned in your scorecard of KMAT 2021:

  • Your name
  • Your roll number
  • The sectional score
  • The overall score

How to Check KMAT Result?

You will not receive a hard copy of your KMAT scorecard. However, if you secure a valid score in KMAT 2021, you will be shortlisted for the subsequent selection rounds.

Step 3: It will guide you to the KMAT result page. From there, you have to select the offline mode exam which will show you the exam date

Step 4: Next you have to enter your roll number and your date of birth After you enter the KMAT login details, click on the login button
