Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) organises the Chartered Accountancy (CA) examinations, which comprise three categories: CA Foundation, Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPCC), and CA Final. To become a professional in this field, candidates must pass all three CA exams.

On the other hand, B.Com is a three-year undergraduate programme with subjects such as commerce, economics, business law, accounting, taxation, and finance. CA Aspirants eligible for both programmes separately can pursue a B.Com with CA. Opting for an integrated B.Com CA course is an individual choice based on the choice of career and job opportunities.

B.Com CA Course Details

The topics covered in the B.Com syllabus are nearly identical to those covered in the CA Foundation and Intermediate courses. However, the difficulty level of the subjects in CA is significantly higher. If aspirants are dedicated and hardworking, managing the B.Com CA course subjects will be relatively easy.

A student who wishes to pursue CA must take a Common Proficiency Test (CPT), for which they must be in Class XII. Nine months after passing this test, the student becomes eligible for the Integrated Professional Competency Course (IPCC). Later, the student must complete a three-and-a-half-year Articleship.

The CPT is held twice a year, once in June and once in December. The IPCC is also held twice a year, in May and November, and a student can take it after passing the CPT for nine months.
