The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) is a state-level entrance exam for admission to pharmacy and engineering programs offered by various colleges in Maharashtra. MHT CET means an annual exam conducted by the Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell (CET Cell). 

If you are applying for an engineering course, you need to appear for two papers – Paper 1 (Mathematics) and Paper 2 (Physics and Chemistry combined). If you want to apply for a Pharmacy course, then you need to appear for Paper 2 (Physics and Chemistry combined) and Paper 3 (Biology).

From the academic year 2023-24, the state government has announced that for admission to a BTech Degree program or other professional degree courses, Class 12 marks will be considered along with MHT CET Exam scores. The test cell will give equal weightage to Class 12 and Maharashtra engineering entrance exam scores to arrive at the final scores.

  • B Tech: You must have passed a Diploma in Engineering and Technology and passed or appearing in 2023 for Class 12 exams with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and one of the following vocational subjects – Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Computer Science, IT, Agriculture, Engineering Graphics, Business Studies, or Technical. 

Also, you must obtain at least 45% marks in the board exam for MHT CET registration. This drops to 40% for SC, ST, and OBC candidates.

  • B Pharm: You must have passed or appearing in 2023 for Class 12 exams with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects and Mathematics or Biology as the third subject. 

Also, you must obtain at least 45% marks in the board exam to register for the MHT CET entrance exam 2023. This drops to 40% for SC, ST, and OBC candidates.

  • D Pharm: You must have passed a Diploma in Pharmacy from an affiliated institution and passed or appearing in 2023 for Class 12 exams with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects and Mathematics or Biology as the third subject. 

Also, you must obtain at least 50% marks in the board exam to register. This drops to 45% for SC, ST, and OBC candidates.
