NMAT Question Paper Pattern – Grading System

When evaluating test takers' performance on the NMAT, GMAC will use the scoring system below. The following is a list of the NMAT Exam Pattern's grading system:

  • There are three marks for each objective-type question on the NMAT exam structure.
  • There is no deduction of points for incorrect answers.
  • You will not receive any points if you do not attempt a question.
  • After completing each section, the candidate's answers are deemed complete.

NMAT Test Pattern: Graded Results

During the NMAT by GMAC exam, examinees receive questions based on their performance on prior questions. In general, high-scoring candidates receive more challenging questions than those with low scores because GMAC tailors questions according to the candidate's level of proficiency.

NMAT Exam Registration

Follow these steps for NMAT registration.

  • Check out the website of NMAT by GMAC.
  • Set up a valid email address for your NMAT login account.
  • Input your name, contact information, educational level, work experience, and a unique ID you'll use to log in.
  • The "Program Details" section lets you specify which schools should receive results.
  • The "Schools Preference" option allows you to specify which schools you would like your scores sent to.
  • You must upload a passport-size photo and pay the registration fees.

NMAT Exam Pattern: Important Features

Here are some essential features of the paper pattern of the NMAT Exam that every candidate should know:

  • Mode of Examination: The NMAT 2022 exam pattern consists of either an Internet-based test (IBT) at home or a computer-based test (CBT) at different test centres.
  • Type of Questions: There are only multiple-choice questions on the NMAT 2022 exam (MCQ). The NMAT 2022 Exam pattern consists of 108 questions.
  • Time Period: Although the NMAT Exam 2022 contains fewer questions overall, the test has a time limit of 120 minutes.
  • Selection of the sections' order: One of the distinctive features of the NMAT 2022 exam format is the option for candidates to choose the order of the sections. NMAT Exam Pattern, however, strongly recommends adhering to the same order.
  • Individually timed sections: In the revised NMAT test pattern, each of the three sections has a particular time limit. Applicants must complete the questions in each section within the assigned time limit.
  • No negative marking: There will be no penalty if you get a low score on the NMAT exam. You do not have to skip a question because there is no negative marking, so you can make some assumptions and mark the appropriate response.
  • Moderate Exam Difficulty: The NMAT by GMAC exam pattern is more accessible than the IIMs-CAT and XLRI-XAT tests.
  • Consistent Marking System: The compatible marking system is among the critical features of the new NMAT exam for 2022. You will get three marks for each correct response, and no points are awarded for questions not attempted. Scaled scores for each section range between 12 and 120, while the combined scaled score for all three sections is 120.
  • Reviewing Answers: You can review your answers. The NMAT exam design requires test takers to check answers within 36 to 360 seconds before proceeding to the next section.

NMAT Exam Pattern: General Guidelines

Below is a list of all the essential guidelines you need to follow on your exam day:

  • Make sure you have your confirmation email from GMAC with you (print it out or display it on your mobile device).
  • Additionally, the candidate should carry a hard copy of their admit card.
  • It's essential to bring two original, valid identification cards with your signature, such as a passport, a PAN card, a voter ID card, an Aadhaar card, and a debit or credit card.
  • It would help if you arrived at the test centre 45 minutes before the start of your NMAT test.
  • Bring your Admit Card to the test centre on the day of the test and get it signed by the test administrator.
  • If you wish to retake the test, you must retain the original (signed and stamped) Admit card.
  • To retake the exam, you must present the same Admit Card at the test centre. Ensure that it is signed and stamped.
  • You may not be assigned the same test centre if you have taken the test before.
  • B-Schools may require a duly signed admit card to verify that you have qualified for the NMAT by GMAC test.
  • Your Admit Card should display your printed photograph.
  • In the case of a blank photo or an unclear photo, contact the NMAT help desk by mail.
